review 1: i liked this book because i can relate to jamie in a lot of ways. She is very strong but thats the only thing that makes her weak because she always talks back and that all makes it worse for her.My favorite part is when something bad happens and i love how she doesn't stress over it even though it is a big deal. Also this helped me realize that when i get mad i don't have to scream or shout or hit someone. i found the book so good because my life isn't perfect , there is times when i wanna give up but i don't and this book inspires me not to. this book inspires me not to get mad and react crazy when a situation happens because the its more stress.
review 2: Book Title: Pretty Ugly Author: Karyn Langhorne FolanLexile: 630In a nutshell: The main character Jamee ... moregets herself in deep with mean girl Vanessa when she stands up for new girl Angel. All of the girls are trying out for the school’s cheerleading squad and the behavior goes from mean to downright ugly when Vanessa tries everything to make Jamee pay for not following the crowd and picking on Angel. I really enjoyed this book because it was realistic and entertaining. Jamee didn’t choose to snitch on Vanessa, which is realistic because many teens in the same situation wouldn’t want to do that. My favorite part of the book was when Jamee was able to outsmart Vanessa and force her to confess to the ugly rumors she started. I would recommend this book to people who are interested in realistic fiction about cheerleading and/or getting the best of bullies. less
