review 1: It was a good story line, but I just didn't like the author's writing style. It seemed that she just said things in the simplest ways. And things that I thought that she could've let the reader figure out on their own she blatantly told. I read this story in two days (it is really short). I feel that she repeated herself a lot throughout the entire book. I'm not sure that I would give the author another try. Maybe one of her longer books?
review 2: Two wrongs don’t make it right. Sometimes, the only way to move forward is to face your past. Such was the situation for Marly Hanson.Twelve years ago, Marly ran away from home, married the town bad boy, and moved to the city. Marly vowed never to go back to Dreyerville or speak to her parents again. Now, Marly was
... more about to break that vow, for good reason, her ten year old daughter Katie wanted to meet her grandmother. With the year Katie had endured (brain cancer, surgery, chemotherapy), Marly couldn’t deny her only wish. So the two of them set out for Dreyerville. A Song for My Mother is a story about healing and connection. It’s about letting go of the past and finding something so much more important. It’s a heart-warming tale perfect for a lazy Sunday afternoon. less
