review 1: My little girl loves these stories. They’re right on her level with the simple plot, the scary but ineffectual bad guys, and Miss Alodie who always gives them just the right magical object to save the day. If I think they’re a bit obvious and silly in places, I won’t mention it. They’re a great introduction to fantasy for a child that’s reading early, or for a (somewhat long) read aloud for the five to eight year old age range.
