review 1: This was my first time reading a book from this author. The back of the book sounded like a good story line... and it was OK in the beginning. But the fact that during their first encounter, the guy did not notice that the girl had been a virgin after certain signs of being so (like another reviewer commented) was a little far-fetched. Another huge drawback was the excessive use of the F-word (which I didn't feel went together with the time period) and the feeling that the author was trying to use ridiculous potty-mouth talk to make the storyline more erotic (but came off as super corny to me). I never could tell if the guy really did know it was Rose all along during the secret encounters or not (and that was irritating). A little after half-way thru, it started to r... moreeally drag on and became boring. I do not think that I will read another book by her anytime soon.
review 2: I agree with every negative comment on here, from the language being too contemporary for the time period down to the heroine being way too sexually forward. My first "peeve" about this book was in chapter 2 when they first had their sexual encounter and even though he recognize how "tight" she was and he even mentioned it...but not one time did he look at those sheets to see if she was a virgin...like how can you NOT know...just ridiculous writing...and HELLO...this book sounds extremely like the book "The Raven Prince" by Laura Lee Gurhke...which by the way...was much much much better. This is my first and LAST book I read from this author. If you have time to waste and need anything to read...then help yourself. My advice, keep it moving. It's better authors out there. less
