review 1: A very enjoyable read. Well developed characters covering several generations making it a book that will appeal to a wide age range of readers. Strong story lines that join up well, and provide a level of ongoing intrigue as well as a token touch of predictability! A perfect summer read, ideal for holidays but just as suitable at other times. I have read and enjoyed many Katie Fforde novels, and this one is up there with my favourites.
review 2: I've always enjoyed Katie Fforde's stories. They are humourous, have relateable characters and are a way to pass a couple of hours quite agreeably. However, The Perfect Match didn't come close to any of her others for me. It felt rather dull, I really didn't like the main character and there seemed to be more cas... morees of characters repeatedly explaining things to the reader, instead of the author allowing us to make connections and infer motivation ourselves. Overall, a bit disappointing considering how much I've enjoyed her previous books. less
