review 1: "Wishing on Willows" was a wonderful, feel good story about a young widow struggling to find her place in her world alone. It is an honest look at what we can perceive the struggles to be for a young mother trying to show her independence in a strong family. Katie paints a beautiful setting with her words and you quickly get caught up in the story. You know it's a good read when you are sad to say goodbye to the characters at the end of the book!
review 2: After many reader friends raved about new author Katie Ganshert's "Wildflowers for Winter", I added it to my Kindle as soon as it was available and immediately found a new author for my favorites list. Now that I have read the sequel, "Wishing on Willows", I am a Katie Ganshert fan for life. Her character de... morevelopment is seamless. From the first chapter you are intrigued and involved in every character's life. I was not sure I would like Wishing on Willows like I did Wildflowers for Winter, because the theme of Ganshert's first novel touched more on what I have walked through in my own life. I was wrong. Katie Ganshert truly has a talent of telling a story that can be relevant to everyone. A story of loss and fear, learning to let go and grace within disappointment. I loved reading Robin and Ian's story, and even enjoyed reconnecting with Bethany & Evan from "Wildflowers". Wishing on Willows will tug on your emotions, but ends with a sigh of contentment and even encouragement. I can't wait to see what else Katie Ganshert has in her writing future :) less
