review 1: this is a thoughtful book about a couple trying to have a child and their mixed feelings about it. infertility and the attempt to conceive require a concerted effort on the part of both parents to be, and both must be committed. what happens when a woman feels like she is expected to have children, and isn't sure she wants to? and when her husband believes they are both committed and enthusiastic. this conflict greatly stresses a marriage. this book tells how they deal with an opportunity to test their commitment. my only complaint is the lack of resolution and a happy ending.
review 2: This should have been a great book about a childless couple who end up taking care of the two-and-one-half year old child of their friends who were in a terrible car acciden
... moret. The father was killed and the mother remains in the hospital in a coma. I tried to like these people and to some degree I did like James, but Ana remained unlikeable throughout. In the end, I was disappointed I spent some time with them. less

Couldn't finish it. The characters just didn't grab me and the writing was irritating.

It's a good thing Finn is so likeable a character, because most of the adults are not.

Semi-interesting plot, bad writing and little character development.
