review 1: I became a fan of Ms. Katy when I read "The Vixen and the Vet", which I recommend highly, now she captivated me with "Playing for love at Deep Haven", what a beautiful love story..Violet and Zach met in college and connect with each other from the start, but when Vi told Zach that she loved him, he walked away and left her with a broken heart...9 years later, their met again, by fate..Zach as a heavy metal rocker, with tattoos and facial piercing, not the brooding boy she knew in college and Violet as a conservative writer, not the free loving Violet that Zach knew...Both have changed in the 9 years since their saw each other's.., Zach and Violet is like water and oil when they met again..But from the moment their see each other again, chemistry between them is explosive b... moreut Vi still remember and had never forgotten the pain he left her with..This story is about misunderstanding, a 2nd change, letting go, finding one though self..I again highly recommend this amazing book...
review 2: Sweet and charming, although it verged on a little too emo. It read like a New Adult title, but without the major sexual assault that seems so popular among that genre. Both MCs were in their late twenties, with actual careers and responsibilities and stuff, so it didn't strike exactly the right vibe for me. I was with it though, right until the epilogue got a little too "and they lived happily ever after" and wrapped up everything with a bow. Given the real-life lens on the previous everything, it felt disingenuous. It also appears that this was self-pubbed. It's well-formatted, well-edited, and very professional looking. Even though the end let me down quite a bit, I wouldn't have felt insulted if I had actually paid real money for this (I got it for free at Amazon.) less
