review 1: I liked this book but didn't love it. I was rather excited about this one since I like domestic discipline books but while this one did do a very good job of setting up what DD is all all about I didn't really see it put into action too much with the characters. Damien didn't do a good job enforcing and keeping track of his sub and Jeff didn't do a great job of being truthful and/or following the rules. There was a great deal of set up and not a lot of follow through. I did enjoy the rather sweet relationship between Damian and Jeff and loved seeing some of the other couples from the other series. But I also felt for as much as Jeff went through he recovered fairly easily from addiction and sever rape to be believable. This was rather mixed for me but I still enjoy the... more ongoing them of these books and look forward to which ever couple pops up next.
review 2: Damian's Discipline is a BDSM book in the Collars & Cuffs series but it is quite different from the other stories, and for that matter, different from most BDSM fiction. The characters are also seen in Someone to Keep Me (Ben and Scott's story) but this is Damian and Jeff's story alone.Jeff is a victim of abuse so a good part of the book revolves around Damian building trust with Jeff. Their relationship is not like the Dom/sub connections in the other series' books, and that's quite deliberate. I thought for a while that they weren’t even going to fall in love. That did not turn out to be the case, but Ms Wells and and Mr Williams allowed their devotion to each other to build slowly. Jeff is broken and it is up to Damian to find a way to help him heal without changing who Jeff is or forcing him to accept a role in their relationship that neither man really wants. They discover the Domestic Discipline lifestyle choice is what they want and then work together to tailor it to fit their needs.Because it is different, more gentle, and has a slow build to love, this is my favorite of the Collars & Cuffs series. I found it to be sweet, at times unpredictable, and it moves with ups and downs toward an HEA that is perfect. I highly recommend this book, and the entire Collars & Cuffs series. less
