review 1: I’ve been wanting to get into the Eden Trilogy for some time. The storyline sounds great and it’s something I’ve wanted to check out. While I haven’t started the trilogy just yet, I thought I was a good idea to throw one of the short stories into my reading pile.I was pleased to read The Raid, as I feel that it was made me want to read the full novels even more. This story is fairly short, but it does a good job a giving the reader a glimpse into the world of this series. There are a few characters established, and through that the reader can get a feel for what’s happening now that the world has become a post-apocalyptic wasteland for humans. There’s a new threat in the world, and without mentioning what it is, I thought it was a great mixture of the horror and... more sci-fi genres.I’ll be bumping the Eden Trilogy up on my reading list after reading The Raid.
review 2: This was the lone book in the Eden series that I had yet to read. But I zipped through it today. It's a fun little kickoff to the series. The Raid is a very short story. I liken The Raid to a high quality movie trailer in book format. There's just enough to make you want to read more.In The Raid, we're introduced to Eve and other people from a colony of human survivors. They're on a raiding mission to gather ammunition and supplies when things go wrong... I'd recommend reading this book followed immediately by The Bane. Seriously, don't wait. As soon as you finish this dig into The Bane because it leads you in nicely. As a stand alone short story, you're not really going to benefit much from reading it. Obviously, it's hard to develop characters, plot, and give context in only a few thousand words. But as a small piece in a much bigger pie it's a satisfying morsel. less

This was a really short extra. I finished in 10-15 mins. But I am really confused about the ending.

WHY DOES IT HAVE TO BE SO SHORT?! Creepy and awesome, that's all I'm gonna say

Very short but action-packed. A direct lead-up to The Bane.
