review 1: What a disappointment. I hate it when the heroines think they are so strong, but are really dumb and working on borrowed time. She's has too much confidence in her skill and she won't make allowances for her shortcomings like carrying a weapon, or coming up with a plan, or asking pertinent questions. She missed obvious things and instead of making me more intrigued, it just frustrated me. I also hate it when these kick-ass females are scared of expressing themselves sexually. It screams young adult to me.
review 2: Another great urban fantasy series that I just got into. I picked up her most recent title (an unrelated book called Trance) and enjoyed it so much I went back to read her older books. I was very disappointed to fidn out on her FB page that the serie... mores has been put on indefinite hiatus due to poor sales. :( I am very much enjoying this series. The characters are interesting and the world they inhabit is pretty complicated. I like the fact that the characters are still learning about their own world along with the reader. I will be sad when I finally finish the fourth book, but I am so looking forward to the ride there. Definitely recommended for readers of urban fantasy. less
