review 1: I didn't learn anything from this book, but it is a fun, breezy read—probably due to the author being the same age as the young twenty-something bankers he interviews. At one point I described this book as a "romp," and I don't think that's inaccurate. Unexpected side effect: I no longer complain as much about how much work I have. At least I'm not pulling 100-hour weeks—and I'm still not clear on how that's even possible.
review 2: This should be mandatory reading in every MBA program. We meet several young grads who takes jobs on Wall Steet and give up any kind of life outside of work. We learn a little about the convoluted world of international finance. What is much more engaging is the lives of the people the author follows. The conclusion is t... morehat lives are changed forever and most of the young professionals find a way to begin a productive life. I look forward to the movie version -- it seems the book would translate well to the screen. I hope 20+ years from now there's a follow up book on how the lives turned out, less
