review 1: Don't know where to start.I liked the whole theme park setting very much - unique and interesting, but I had a hard time connecting with the characters. I liked Kyle at first, and sympathised with him, but I just couldn't get why he's so self-deprecating around his co-workers, I mean it's not high school, who cares where does who sit in the cafeteria??? And then I get that he wants to be an actor in the park, but working two years as a janitor, while having a college degree seems real strange to me. It would make more sense just come to auditions, while working elsewhere.Rory I had a hard time with. His flippant attitude just pissed me off, I mean I'm not as anal about rules of work as Kyle is, but when you're working you really do have to follow the rules, not just acting... more like you don't care and you're above it all.Charlie's just too bad to be real, he's like the evil caricature or something, I couldn't see him as a serious antagonist. Then again if the owner of the park is my father there's no way I'm not telling him about the abuse at work and later on gloating seeing my adversary fired.So... it's not a bad book and I enjoyed some parts of it, but overall it's not my favorite :/
review 2: Kyle and Rory are employed as groundskeepers at Happy World, a Florida theme park. Kyle is very OCD about falling all the employee rules and Rory is the complete opposite. Despite their differences, there is a definite attraction and they start a relationship. They have their ups and downs along the way. Not least of which is Charlie, one of the star "actors" at the park, who's a real dick. Rory has been keeping a bit of a secret, though, and when it comes out, Kyle realises that everything will change for them both. This was a good, fun story. less
