review 1: I love anthologies and this one was right up my alley. I do think that some of the stories were more like blurbs as they left me wanting much more but I still enjoyed every one. I do wish that the first story in the book had actually been near the end as the stories kept referring to Grey as being alone yet he was set up with a sub of his own in the beginning. Like I said, an enjoyable read but I still want more. :)
review 2: 50 Shades starts with Balls Deep, a story I had trouble reading through the first time. I could not like Grey. He seemed cold hearted, harsh, and egoistical to me. I had trouble reading through the spanking scene, because I felt Shade chose to make it a public punishment not due to what Craig needed, but because the other doms might want t... moreo see Craig get punished, and to humiliate Craig. The ending of the story, however, is priceless. I loved it. It has quite a twist to it. The story has a HFN ending. Normally, a story with an HFN and character I didn't like would get two stars at most. The twist to this one, however, is worth a star alone. And the ending left me with a smile. So I'd give this story 4 stars. Bill Me, is a story about a dom whose sub left him. He becomes interested in a sub by the name of William. The story has a brief hot sex scene and very good descriptions. It all takes place within an hour, so while it is implied that they will be continuing the relationship, this story does not have a HEA. There is talk of discipline, but the only scene in the story is a blow job. I'd give this story 2 stars. It seemed more like the start of a story than a complete story.Tangerine is a delightful story. It includes a hot public (in the club) intense sex scene and an established in love couple. Grey does take a part in the sex, although he is not part of the couple. As both partners were there, and in agreement with what went on, it did not feel like cheating to me on the part of the couple. I would give this story 3 stars. Sweet Distractions is a story of a hot first encounter, ending with the two men discussing a second date. Nothing heavy in this one. Well written with great descriptions, in my opinion. A three star story for me.Tai'd Too Tight is a story about a sub who wants more from his insecure dom. He wants Palmer to admit to loving him and to play heavier with him. He sets up a scene with Grey to make Palmer jealous. His actions border on cheating, and Palmer sees it as cheating at first. Additionally, Grey is part of this story, and plans, at first, to fuck the other man's sub. I wonder when this story takes place. It mentions that Grey does not have a sub, so one has to assume that this is pre-Craig. Still, I might have enjoyed this story more if it had been placed before Balls Deep. I believe this story has a HEA. I'd give this story three stars.Into the Void is a story of a couple who have lost their way. It includes a public whipping. There is a reconciliation‎ at the end of the story that implies the two will stay together. We are only given hints as to what exactly shook the relationship before. If it was just someone saying things to the dom. then the relationship could not have been strong in the first place. However, the story hints that whatever caused David to lose confidence was more serious than someone saying things against the lifestyle to him. A three star story for me.Two Tiny Secrets starts as a m/f story and includes a m/f spanking. It becomes an established m/m couple story. It is more of a tell than show story. I'd give it two stars.Anniversary Gift is the story of an established couple. It includes blindfolding, and a three way with Grey fucking the sub. This story is more clear than previous stories that this event occurs before Grey mets Craig. I'd give it two stars.Crawling Back to You is the story of two men's reconciliation. It is a HFN story, although the two are clearly going to work for a HEA. There is spanking, bondage, nipple clamping in this story. Although Keith had been very wrong, the author made me feel for him. I'd give this story 5 stars. This is a couple I'd love to read more about. Shades of An Untamed Heart. This is a story that seems to be about a couple that is exploring what one of them likes as far as pain. It's told from Matt's POV, and he clearly cares for Darian. It's harder to tell what Darian feels, but he plainly is willing to kiss other men and play with them {with Matt's agreement}. The play is not between the couple but between an unknown {to readers and both men} dom. This dom puts Matt in a cage and hoses him down with cold water. There is also bondage, clip play, and flogging that is enjoyed by Darian, but not by Matt, who finds the scene painful to watch. In fact, Matt eventually uses his safe word to stop the scene. The story ends without the couple talking about the scene, leaving readers to guess what happens next with the couple. I give this story one star.An Accountant Into Kink is a delightful story of a first encounter between two men. It includes a spanking. The story does not go beyond the first encounter so isn't a HEA or even a HFN. I liked these two so much that I went to the author's Goodreads page to see if more had been written about them. Sadly, I could find nothing else about them. I'd give this story 5 stars despite my strong wish that there was more of it!As You Wish is the story of a man who had a tragic encounter with a man that did not honor his safeword. It is also the story of Rex's love for Declan. The ending sounds a bit like a love cures all ending. The two love each other, but the story does not continue long enough to show if/how they worked a relationship out. I would have liked to have more about these two. A 5 star story for me.New to This is about a young man's first encounter at Grey's Shady Business club. It includes bondage and a flogging. It ends with the two men discussing whether they would see each other at the club again. I'd give it three stars.Winning Will's Heart. While it was clear that these two love each other, only Will stated his love. I would have liked the story better if Matt had declared his love. also. I also did not like that Matt left Will to kneel so long at the start of the story. A two star story for me.Two for the Price of One is about a sub who is in love with two doms. The doms decide to share him, and there follows a sex scene with paint play and spanking. Then the story ends. I have trouble believing this arrangement of sharing will last for long. This is a one star story for me.Too Attached. I found this to be a cruel story about Grey {I guess before Craig, although story does not say so. I think Balls Deep should have been the last story in this collection, not the first} trying to get rid of a "pet" {this is how M refers to the sub} that has become too attached to him. He sets up a scene with a dom referred to as M. They, evidently, don't tell the poor pet about the change of doms because he is upset at first to find himself with someone new whom he does not know. The story includes toy play, paddling, and spanking. It is told from M's POV, so readers have no idea if the sub involved is hurt by events, which include a rejection of a collar. M does set up another scene with the "pet", but I can not see this relationship going far. Neither dom seemed to care about the sub's feelings. I'd give this story one star.One for Luck is a short story about a sub's birthday and includes a public birthday spanking. The couple do not appear to live together, although the story isn't clear on that. They clearly love each other and seem committed to each other. We aren't given details about their relationship. This is a 4 star story for me.Grey is a recurring character in each story. The stories are stand alone stories. I prefer more in-depth stories with HEA, but these stories are well-written. less
