review 1: Summary In the book The Body Finder written by Kimberly Derting. Violet Ambrose has a secret, and only four people know. Violet can hear the spirits of dead. They will come with different sounds like bells or pounding. Most of the time Violet finds dead birds or dogs buried by their owners. But when a killer is on the loose, Violet finds herself finding dead girls, and more importantly wanting to find the killer, using her “special powers”. With the help from her childhood best friend (Jay) the search is on. With Violet chasing the killer, and the killer chasing Violet. You’ll stay up all night reading this book.Opinion I rate the book The Body Finder a 4 out of 5 stars. This is the first book in the series of four. You definitely want to read the other 3 books, once... more you finish this one. You get very attached to the characters. You start to relate to Violet’s feelings and laugh Jay’s personality. The words this author chose was not that hard to read, but they way she arranged to words made it seems like a level 8 book. The dialogue of this book, is what adds humor. Violet’s girlfriends, witty comments and Jay corny jokes. Adding more to the story. I never wanted to put this book down, staying up all night flipping the page to see what happens next. I very much recommend this book to girls ages 13+.This book is not really something that boys would like, to many lovey dovey in many parts. I think the theme of this book, is you have to follow your own feelings. Even though others don’t think you can. When they keep tearing you down, you have to do what you think is right. If you like mysteries and love stories mixed together, then The Body Finder is totally for you.
review 2: It felt like most of the book was all about Violet's feelings for Jay, and only a couple of pages here and there and at the end were given to the fact that Violet can find dead bodies and killers. This book is all about a girl, who happens to find dead bodies and search for killers, realizing she's in love with her best friend, instead of a girl, realizing she's in love with her bf, finding dead bodies and catching a killer. The sound the same but they are two very different books. I was just hoping for more about the dead bodies and mystery and less about Violet being stubborn over admitting her feelings. I didn't like or dislike any of the characters, but sometimes Violet got on my nerves. less
