review 1: This story was heartbreaking, joyful, & all different emotions!!! I bawled my head off during this book as the author takes you through their journey!!! This story reminds us that we are a voice for the Gospel, no matter what our circumstances - & regardless of our circumstances, God will NEVER leave us nor will he ever forsake us! One of the best books I've ever had the privilege of reading!!! I love this author (she is somewhat of a new find for me!) & I look forward to more of what she writes!!!
review 2: Faith, Hope, & LoveBy Kimberly Rae Jordon. On the day that Cassie had planned to tell, her Missionary Pilot husband, Quinn they were expecting their first child; Quinn was taken hostage. Six years would pass without solid word about his condition. Then mirac
... moreolusly he is released and returned to his family. However the man whom cassie get’s back is not the man she lost. He is without faith and it seems without love for anyone but the child he missed seeing born. The book is about the journey towards healing and restoration of this family. Will Quinn be able to open up and rediscover his faith in God and his love for his wife? Mrs. Jordan has written a book that draws the reader into the world of Cassie and Quinn. We experience the struggle of a wife, who thinks her prayers are finally answered only to have that hope canceled by a man broken and scarred spiritually and emotionally by his years in captivity. We experience the struggle of the husband who wants to love but has buried that emotion so deep to protect himself that he doesn’t even know how to begin uncovering it. On top of that we have the same man convinced that God forsoke him in the jungle and is not willing to return to faith in a God like that. I personally was drawn into these characters lives and forgot several times that I was reading a fiction book. The anguish and situations Mrs. Jordan put her characters through seemed so life like and realistic that I, as a pastor, found myself wanting to pick up the phone and call and encourage them. This book using the power of fiction sheds light on several key spiritual truths: knowing that God is in control, restoration of faith, learning to let go of your own expectations for when and how God is going to work. Even realizing that sometimes what we think is a bad situation God is using to bring the light of salvation to others. This book was a real joy to read and one that I couldn’t put down from page one to the final word of the epilog. Even then, I was wanting to know what happens next. If you have the time this is a worth while read. less
