review 1: How could a love triangle be terribly wrong? Well what if you fell in love with two brothers. That is the baseline of this story. It starts out with just two girlfriends hanging out as BFFAA (you need to read the book to get what this means)- Liv and Tori. Tori's parents move to Minne-f*cking-soda (again another book reference) and Tori stays with her best friend Liv and her parents and Liv's younger brother Tug aka Aiden. Tug has a huge crush on Tori. Tori loves him like a brother. They grew up together. Then the rebellious bad boy Brady comes home from the summer and all the hormones break lose. Brady has come to speak to Tori and confess a secret. Throw in the mix the ex - Jake - aka sumbag and a possible new boytoy Harrison and lots and lots of family secrets. You thin... morek that everything is all wrapped up when this book ends but boy oh boy it is not you need to go on to read book two because it just more interesting and a little bit warped. You really think that maybe Jerry Springer inspired some of the writing. He is even mentioned by name.I liked the book. I did find it predictable - but I am good at figuring out storylines because I am author as well and write my own books. But the drama keeps on going and going and going.
review 2: I won this book from a drawing on Facebook via "A Love Affair With Books" (thanks again!) and was actually surprised with how quickly I was sucked in. There were moments in the story that made me truly enjoy it, then there were moments that made me sit back and say "What the f*ck?" I am not a big fan of over-the-top, non-stop drama and there was a lot of in in Tori and Brady's story. Some points I had to force-read, just so that I could get to the next chapter. It was not at all a bad book, in fact I was pretty satisfied with the way things panned out. I read book two, which I also won, and then purchased "Tug" because I had to know his story. If you like dramatic, in your face romance, this is definitely a book for you! But make sure you read the rest of the series because the story never truly ends... less
