review 1: The characters were well developed and the plot was good, progressing at a steady pace - but the sex scenes were abysmal. There's a delicate balance between tease and falling flat. This book fell flat several times. When they finally consummated it was anticlimactic. Literally. The second time was equally bland with a BDSM move tossed in as an afterthought that instead of enhancing the moment, completely killed it for me. Will give her other books a try - but overall - disappointed.
review 2: Daisy and Ian are awesome! If you read the first book, Ian doesn't come off as a likable character. I didn't like him in the first book, but his tortured loneliness is just so heartbreaking. Daisy is so spunky and resourceful that I couldn't help but like her a lot. I ha
... moreve been trying to find an in into historical romance and this has been mine. The language is fun but I don't know how authentic it is, but it definitely worked for me. I was able to understand the storyline without having language distract me from it. I own book three (galley from ALA Midwinter 2013) and I'm looking forward to reading it. less
