review 1: One day I was loitering around in my favourite book store, searching for something to read. At one point I spotted the Graceling Realm series and found the book covers appealing enough to give it a try, plus the praise seemed good.My dissapointment came fast. It may be because the last series I read before this one "the demon cycle", was a great one and I had been fascinated by it for weeks. So this series had a lot "keeping up" to do. Sadly, in my eyes, I found this book lacking. Throughout the first book I didn't find a single character likeable. Or maybe Bitterblue? She seemed decent enough and I hope the book named after her will be a good one. While I inhaled the Demon Cycle series in 2-3 days. Losing sleep, forgetting to eat, communicate etc, this single one took me ... morea week. I forced myself to read it, you know... hoping it would get better and so on. But it just didn't happen. I didn't connect to any characters and didn't find anything appealing enough to raise my interest in this book. Even the fight scenes were meager.I will nevertheless read the next 2 Graceling Realm books aswell, since I have already bought them and I am willing to give it another try, hoping that something will spark my interest.Like the rating system says, It was an OK read, but if I could have the chance to get my money and the time spent reading this book back.. I would use it.
