review 1: The 13th zodiac sign, Ophiucus the Snake was unlocked when Jalen, Ellie & Brennan found a book in a fortune teller's shop, and everyone in the world experienced personality changes including themselves. In order to get the healing stone from Ophiucus they need to challenge 12 other zodiac keepers. There were also two agents who tried to get the stone for themselves. It was later revealed that her father once won the challenge to cure Jalen from her near-death sickness. And the keeper that has been with them since the very beginning was actually the one they seek. The concept was promising, the book was an OK one, not as epic as I hoped it to be. Light reading at its best
review 2: Set in the heart of New Orleans, a young girl unwittingly unleashes the secret 13... moreth sign of the zodiac, resulting in a cosmic shift that changes the personalities of everyone in the world. Suddenly, surgeons are squeamish around blood, pilots don't like to fly, and all of the little quirks we enjoy about our loved ones are erased. But there is more at stake as others seek to control the power of the mysterious new sign and manipulate it for their own selfish gains. Now it's up to this 13 year old girl to set things right. The setting and unique plot concept carry the story, but the writing would've benefited from further editing and development of the characters. Still it was engaging and anyone with a bent for the paranormal would probably find it of interest. less
