Rachel and Connor
review 1: Rachel is in her mid-20s and works for her family business, which is largely unspecified, but apparently they dabble a little bit in hotel ownership and management. At her parent’s urging, she pursues a position with ShawTech, working as the personal assistant to Connor Shaw, the COO and son of the CEO. She also happens to have a long history with Connor, having attended a prestigious prep school together from kindergarten through high school graduation, and then attending the same college, both earning their bachelor and masters degrees.Rachel thinks that she has flown under Connor’s radar her entire life, but that isn’t the case. Unfortunately Connor doesn’t think particularly highly of her. He thinks she is beautiful, however she comes across as a frigid bitch. ... moreIt becomes clear that the two of them will have an adversarial relationship at work, until they find themselves thrown into several situations where they begin to depend and trust each other. Another coincidence between Rachel and Connor is the fact that they have been seeing the same therapist for the past sixteen years, unbeknownst to each other. Their therapist knows, and gets a good laugh about it, but he doesn’t share that info with his clients. The plot was a little all over the place, but if the author could pull it together a little more it could be a really fun series. There are several different themes working here, romance, mystery, intrigue, erotica, and it’s not exactly clear which direction the story will be taking. This series has an interesting premise and seems to be off to a good start, however with no dates out there for when the next volumes are coming out I would be a little leery of starting it, especially given the major cliffhanger at the end. I don’t think I’m alone in the realization that the longer time lapses between volumes, the more likely you are to forget the previous story and are unlikely to continue. I fear that might be the case here but I certainly hope not. This one was a 3 star read for me.
review 2: REVIEWED FOR SASSY DIVAS BOOK BLOGLittle Black Book by KT Mara was hilarious!! It is told by both Connor and Rachel's point of views and both of them are funny as hell! If you are looking or a fun, quick read this is your next book. I'll definitely continue with the series to find out what happens next! Major game changer at the end and completely through me off guard, and possibly makes the cover fit the book! I say Little Black Book has earned 3.5 stars!Connor Shaw is struggling with his manhood. It seems it has taken a hiatus and Connor is damn aware and not happy about it. Nothing is working, he's tried it all to no avail. Something's got to give!"I'm more concerned about the livelihood of my dick. Frankly, Gus, I'm worried it may shrivel up and cease to exist." -ConnorRachel Trevelynn was ordered by her dad to work as a PA for Connor to get more experience. Needless to say, she is less than thrilled to be working with him. They've known each other since kindergarten and it hasn't been friendly."Shaw was a first class man-whore. And by first class, I meant the quantity of miles he has ridden, not the class. He has no class." -RachelIf you're wanting a hilarious, quick read be sure to get this one now! less
