review 1: 4/5An extremely well written, hard hitting piece of work.Characterisation: bang on the button for the most part. Chris life as a victim of his parents homophobic intolerance is palpable. The dealings with drug recovery was impressive. However the character Denny remains totally vague, even after the 'a-ha!' Epilogue. This however didn't reduce my ability to invest in the couple. Plot: seemed like two different plots cohabiting the same novel. Curious, but this could well have been a great story about recovery and LGBT theme issues... or a supernatural tryst between a lonely gay kid and his thought-to-be imaginative friend. It works as both simultaneously, tbh you need to read this and decide for yourself whether ot works or not. Prose: vivid, earthy and real. This autho... morer is serious talent. Definitely one to watch out for in the future. Read this novel: its worth it.
review 2: I'm having trouble thinking of the appropriate words to describe this story. It's definitely amazing, unique, poignant, heartbreaking and yet heartwarming, and without a doubt had the most interesting twist in an epilogue that I've ever read. I don't want to give away details but I will say that I was very touched by Chris' journey to recovery and found Denny to be very endearing. I will definitely read this again and will recommend it to my friends. less

Intriguing, raw, and definitely not your typical romance. Loved it.
