review 1: Once again, I wasn't as completely blown away by this book as I was with the first. I've been holding high expectations as I've continued with this series, but have been left a little disappointed.There was a certain level of predictability to this story, it was just a case of when and how things were going to unravel. I was a little shocked at the casualness with which everyone approached Vance and Portia's relationship. Sure, they were deeply in love, there was no denying that fact, but for her father to give in so easily when they decided to get married, it just felt a little incredible. The thing that saved this book for me was the ending. My gosh! I cried my eyes out and then I cried some more when Portia returned to the graveyard after everything. This book ended on ... morea high, as bittersweet as it was, and I am excited to dive right into the next book because I have to know what will happen to Vance and Portia.
