review 1: This is a great series. There's definitely some language in this book (though, it seemed less than the first one). Pitt and MHI find themselves facing the past in order to save the future. Pitt goes through hell and back again to save the world from the old ones again. We learn more about some of the other characters in the cast in this book, and it makes us want to spend even more time with them. I caught myself laughing quite a bit with this one. I loved the "Troll" character, and how he spoke. I listened to the audible version, and that probably helped. The jokes were awesome. All in all, a great book if you like supernatural (the show) type scenes/banter. Great stuff!
review 2: Monster Hunter: Vendetta, is the second book in Larry Correia's MHI series, and
... moreit builds directly upon the events and the charters in his first book in the series. For fans of the first book, you're in for more of the same, which includes guns, hand-to-had combat, hordes of undead, denizens of the fey with southern accents, as well as Z, Earl, Julie and the entire MHI crew doing what they do best.Is the MHI series for everyone? Probably not. If you're looking for paranormal romance you won't find it in this urban fantasy setting, but if you've ever wondered what would happen if all the hunters that hung out at the roadhouse in Supernatural were well organized and funded, you're come to the right place. If you're looking for a Dresen-esq approach to dealing with the supernatural, the protagonists' reliance upon copious amounts of ammunition and explosives may come as a bit of a shock, as may the author's incredibly detailed descriptions of the armament.Overall, book two in the series feels like the final act of the first book, if Larry Correia had been able to take the first MHI story and make it even longer. The mystery of Franks is addressed, as is the reason that Meyers left MHI. Earl's backstory is flushed out, and Owen's relationship with his family is built upon and used as a plot device to move the story forward in a credible and consistent fashion. Owen's relationship with Julie advances, as does his relationship with his team of newbies that we were introduced to in the first book. Overall, MH:V is a solid addition to the Monster Hunter universe, and I'm excited to keep exploring the nooks and crannies of the fantastic world that Mr. Correia has built. 4/5 Stars (via Amazon & Audible Whispersync) less

Better than book 1. Started strong but the last several chapters took the 4th star away.
