Monster Hunter International
review 1: It read like a right wing gun nut power fantasy. It doesn't really have layers. It's chock full of moments of where the government is incompetent or petty, where breaking policy/law relating to guns always is the right decision, and where Evil is Evil because it is Evil and violence is therefore the only real solution. If that sounds like the kind of brain candy you would enjoy, then this is the book for you.
review 2: A pretty entertaining read. It reads more like a horror/action novel with various military elements. Pretty much every supernatural creature in the book is bad news. No frilly vampires or heartsick werewolves in here. Everything wants to rip your face off or swallow your soul. You would think it would be hard to hide all these supernatur
... moreal happenings from the general populace when everything wants to snack on humans, (especially with modern technology available to everyone) but hey, it could happen.. I guess. Despite this hard to believe element, I found the book fun and fairly engaging. less
