The Boleyn Trilogy
review 1: The extraneous romance grew more annoying in this middle book in the trilogy. Like King William (Boleyn) Tudor, Elizabeth, Mary, Lord Rochford et al were not sufficiently interesting so the author had to throw in these two OCs. And since the two OCs, who I believe are supposed to be sympathetic characters, are behaving in an underhanded, dishonest fashion it is hard to root for them. But the fascinating premise and decent writing kept me reading.
review 2: I'm giving this a 3.5/5 (when will Goodreads finally give us half stars?!). I thought it dragged a little in the middle because some of the plot points were repeated, but the end was quite the shocker. And a cliffhanger, so now I'm naturally dying for book 3! I really enjoy these characters and I love the
... morehistorical aspects of the novel, with some characters that are real people and some that aren't. I think there was a good progression with some of the characters (though some are still exactly the same) and I look forward to more with book 3. less
