review 1: Carmella and Ava are at it again. It is halloween in the big easy. Lots of celebration but also a murder. Carmella finds her neighbor dead in his store.bHis asdistant requests her help in finding out who the culprit is. This does not stop the ladies from enjoying the funof all the activities of Halloween. Babcock is still watching out for Carmella. Classes for scrapbooking continue and of course investigating. Some interesting characters are introduced and considered suspects. This was a fun book to read as you wonder how all the thngs will get wrapped up. do so wish Carmella and Theodosia would meet up in a book too.
review 2: Gossamer Ghost is the newest book in the Scrapbooking Mystery Series by Laura Childs. Carmela Bertrand is the owner of a scrap... morebooking / craft / stationary store, Memory Mine, in New Orleans. All the Halloween events are taking place in New Orleans. There is the Pumpkin and Bumpkins Ball, Ghost Train, The Witches Run, The Cemetery Crawl and others including the murder of the store owner next door, Marcus Joubert. Carmela hears some strange noises next door and goes to investigate. After looking around (or snooping around) she stumbles across the dead body of Marcus Joubert, owner of Oddities. Detective Edgar Babcock, Carmela's boyfriend, is called to investigate the death of Marcus along with the theft of Napoleon's death mask from Oddities. The list of suspects is long and things keep happening at all of these Halloween events. A good read with lots of twist and turns. less
