review 1: Gilt Trip is the eleventh book in the A Scrapbooking Mystery series.Carmela has recently made invitations for Margo Lelands Welcome Home Party for Margo's husband, who has been incarcerated. Margo has invited Carmela and Ava to the party. During the party Ava spills some food on her blouse and Carmela goes off in search of something for Ava to use to get rid of the stain. But what Carmela does find is Margo's husband Jerry Earl, dead, and stuffed in a clothes dryer. Then when Margo asks Carmela to find out who killed her husband, Carmela somewhat reluctantly agrees. Carmela soons finds out that Jerry Earl's business practices were far from above board and that there are many who would like to see him out of the picture.Carmela could really use her boyfriend's, Det. Ed... moregar Babcock, help with this one, but he is away from New Orleans and Buddy Gallant is less than helpful. But Carmela and Ava are able to get some much needed help from a couple of colorful Bayou characters, Moony and Squirrel. Carmela also calls on her ex, Shamus, for help, too.A fun look into the New Orleans Garden District.Delicious sound recipes and scrapbooking tips are also included.
