review 1: There are no words to describe how much I loved this book. I loved Landon right from the start. He told Emma that he was 19 and starting his second year at college. Emma had just graduated early from college and came back to Indiana to help out her mother with her older sister Evie. There was so much tension between the two of them. I kept waiting for them to kiss, the glances, and hugs weren't enough for me! Then Landon went away for football camp with the "university" and Emma had gotten a teaching position at Landon's alma mater High School. That's where the huge twist comes in. My mouth literally dropped. After this I kept telling myself "No! They need to end up together!"I also liked how even though there were lapses in time, you didn't miss out on any details about L... moreandon and Emma.I won't give away spoilers, but at the end, I was left very happy and Laura Ward I LOVED THIS BOOK! Thank you for writing Landon and Emma's story.
review 2: 3.5 starsOverall, this is a cute story. I wanted to love it, but it fell a bit short. The beginning of the story felt 'preachy' and over-informative about disabilities. At times it read more like a textbook or lecture than an actual conversation between people. Don't get me wrong, I loved seeing people with Down Syndrome, Autism, etc having roles in the fictional world. I just thought the execution could have been better. I can appreciate, however, the author's attempt to get the population to understand how these disabilities affect those living with them, and reiterating that they deserve to be treated like anyone else. The love story aspect was cute --- at times repetitive. We knew Landon was hot, and that he had changed. But it was mentioned over and over and over again. Considering the circumstances of their relationship, I thought they were a perfect fit for one another. Emma and Landon had undeniable chemistry, and that was portrayed flawlessly. My one complaint about Emma was how easily she transitioned from the closed off girl to easy going and friendly. That takes time, and definitely more so when it comes to trusting people around her family. Not Yet is a simple, fun read if you can get past the few 'lessons' about disabilities included. There is an important message, but I'll let you discover it for yourself. less
