review 1: First, I'd like to say, as an author, I know it's hard to have others say not-so-nice things about your hard work, but I'm also a reader with my own very strong opinions and the risk of pissing someone off to the point where they might place a personal vendetta against me just for having an opinion they dislike, it just isn't enough reason to keep those opinions to myself. Be honest people, but not spiteful. That said...I understand that this genre uses candid language to talk about sex, but somehow it just felt juvenile to me. The language tried to be young and fresh, free, but it was just childish. The main characters were supposed to be young adults, but all I kept hearing when I read the simple speech was a sixteen year old kid that just learned that they could rebel a... morend was trying out cussing for the first time. Rush was the only one of the two that really had a hint of a personality and even then I wasn't drawn to him in the least, he just felt too immature and thin. The other one, Addison, she was just a hole for him to park his dick in as far as I was concerned.Overall, too short of a story for the readers to connect to the characters in any way, or care about them. Too simple and juvenile of a voice to speak to me as an adult. Too little angst and not nearly as hot as it could have been. Pretty vanilla and benign all around. If the sex was written better then sure, maybe I could overlook all the rest of the negatives and chalk it up to a quick dirty read, but it wasn't exciting enough for me to give this short story anything over two stars, and that's being generous.
review 2: A 3 star book for me, but I think maybe that might have been to do with the fact that it was an audiobook, the female narrater got my up, she spoke really, REALLY slow, and it was in a bored, depressing monotone. The story was a short, and it felt to me that the ending was abrupt, however the storyline was quite good. I may well give this book another go in the future but read it this time instead of listening to it. less
