review 1: Sweet collection of stories, reminiscent of the local color movement in American literature. The characters in their frontier settings and the struggles they face keep you reading, but you can be sure that the outcome will be predictable: if you trust in God, you will find the love of your life in the midst of the most horrible circumstances, just in time for Christmas, and you will live happily ever after. Once again I read these short stories in order to find new authors to choose for other book options.
A very enjoyable collection of Christmas pioneer stories. Just what I was looking for!
Not bad. If you have read one story, you have read them all.
