review 1: The premise was so interesting. I was really anticipating great read. When I chose the book, I did not realize it was from a Christian publisher. I am not very religious, and I would normally not have chosen this book had I know that it was a Christian story. Some reviewer have said, "too much God stuff." Actually, that didn't bother me that much. I thought for a Christian author and publisher, the religion part was rather matter of fact--not heavy handed at all.The reason I said the book was just ok was that it wasn't written very well. There were numerous inconsistencies. The author would say one thing about a character at the beginning of a chapter, then the opposite by the end of a chapter. There is substantial, as in overload, detail about daily life. Like this: "Nora... more decided to make pizza. She reached into a cabinet. She got out a pan. She walked across the kitchen to the oven. She set the oven for 350. She walked back to the refrigerator. She opened the refrigerator. The light went on. The refrigerator was cold. She reached in. She picked up a tube of crust. She closed the door." For all that detail, the book was lacking in imagery.I also wonder about many details that were left out. Like, what happened to the other kids in the car? In general, the book addressed many important topics: grief, organ donation, and teen suicide. The story idea was superb, with two mothers each hoping for "one perfect day," but it was sadly poorly executed.
review 2: ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! IT TOOK ME LONGER THAN EXPECTED TO READ, I HAD TO TAKE SOME LONGER BREAKS THAN WHAT I NORMALLY DO. ALTHOUGH I DON'T HAVE TWINS, I DO HAVE TWO SMALL CHILDREN AND WHEN YOU READ A BOOK ABOUT SOMEONE WHO LOST THEIR CHILD OR MAY LOSE THEIR CHILD IT TOUCHES A BIT CLOSER TO HOME. I FOUND MYSELF TELLING NOT ONLY MY CHILDREN BUT MY HUSBAND ALSO THAT I LOVE THEM MORE THAN I USUALLY DO. THIS BOOK ABOUT A CHRISTMAS MIRACLE AND A HEART WRENCHING TRAGEDY PUTS THINGS IN PERSPECTIVE. TO LIVE LIFE WHEN YOU HAVE AND NOT TAKE THINGS FOR GRANTED. NOT TAKE PEOPLE FOR GRANTED! AMAZING BOOK WILL DEFIANTLY BE READING IT AGAIN!! less
