review 1: Ariel, why, oh why, are you such a little moron? All Ral has to do is say their in love and it makes it perfectly fine that he literally threatens to have sex with her even if she didn't enjoy it and even when she repeatedly said no, which last time I checked equals rape. The escape was super obvious.The Zorn world and people were not all that developed, but honestly they were sort of the best part. Although the relationship does improve after the first third if you ignore that she is never really given a choice about it. I mean he doesn't cheat on her at least, which is apparently a major concession on his part.
review 2: This book was a lot shorter than I thought, and only took me like 2 hours to breeze through. It was a simple, sexy read, but oh so frustrati... moreng. I love me some paranormal insta-love, but labelling insta-lust as love drives me nuts. It felt like the same night Ariel was basically forced to accept her life as sex slave (even though Ral wasn't a douche) she was in love with him… puh-lease. And at the point where Ariel realizes they could find a way to Earth- instead of yelling 'NO STAY WITH HUNKY ALPHA MALE' I was thinking, "DO IT" I think I just found their personalities a little flat because the book was short, and what we did get was a lot of sex, and no substance. Or instead of finding out what the characters were really like, by having them get to know each other, those parts were just glossed over by saying, 'we spent three weeks talking and getting to know each other'- thats great and all, but I still don't know anything! All I know is that he has a dick he knows how to use, and thats about it. Despite this book falling a bit flat for me, I think I'll continue with the author because I liked some of her other books. less
