review 1: This book is very boring, I know I shouldn't have, but i skipped a whole bunch of chapters before I stopped reading completely. All the characters do is talk for such a long time i could have just fallen asleep. I couldn't help but think that the author was stalling before she got to the good part. I would have finished but it was one boring word/page/chapter/section after another. this is a slow going book, that's why it has 400 pages. Maybe im not old enough to fully understand what the characters are saying because it is old fashioned, I mean back when there were kings and queens and servants and back way stairs for the servants and old sayings like haven't any worry.I do not recommend this book to anyone under the age of 15, not because its inappropriate or anything li... moreke that, its just that its an advanced book that even i dont really have the patience for
review 2: So good! I swear I recommend it for everyone!! It even inspired me to write my own story too! (Spoiler Alert) Its kinda weird, it goes back and forth. Her mother and her twin reunite, her Aunt Helen, she realized has died in a gruesome murder, her mother still alive, then her father dies of heart failure and then she realizes that her mother is her Aunt then that actually it is her mother and that she has been having an affair with the murderer and that in fact; she is the murderer as well. Apparently it was thins whole thing of betrayal because hen which ever twin died she was pregnant and apparently Father had had a baby with Aunt Helen and mother had an affair with another man. Kit Tyler her main love interest has been sent of to war and comes back and they get married! I have expressed more of my feeling towards the book in my status updates of the book but all in all this is really what the summary explains it; a Gothic novel of betrayal, jealousy and treacherous secrets that WILL keep you guessing 'till the very end. less
