review 1: I found Shannon was very annoying at times. She just made bad choices that I found very frustrating. The main character is participating in criminal activity, and you would think having common sense, she would know not to tell everyone if she doesn't want to get caught. Yet she is so willing to tell anyone, especially a woman who she just met. It just baffled me. Overall it was alright, and a very quick read.
review 2: I was expecting more from this story that what it gave me. But I am not saying that it disappointed me. It's still a good story, a unique one with all the poker thing and all. Or maybe, I was expecting excitement like the one "Beautiful Disaster" gave me. Stories both have poker topics as well. But this one lacks the thrill or the suspense that I
... more might expect from a story that came out from poker. But it's a good thing that I learned some basics in poker :DI didn't like Max that well. I found him a spineless jerk at the start. With all that happened then he thinks breaking up with his current girlfriend will justify all his actions. I'm not defending Shannon's side, but I believe, on what happened between them, it should be the guy that should have taken the right move. As for Shannon, at first I fully agree with her on what she's doing as it's for her future. But I guess the end doesn't justify the means. Especially when Shannon lost her self-discipline and started all piles of lies with the excuse that she has already been lying about her age and doing illegal works.Even if I find the story a very focused topic about Shannon add her difficulties, I still find some parts jumbled. Like everything is scattered and I can't hold on to everything that's going on. Or maybe that's how it really should be..But some characters came out really confusing, at first the jerk Max whose character tends to be positive/negative all throughout. Then Her friend (I think her name is Charlotte or something) I thought she's going to be a pain in the ass bitchy type of girl in this story then ended up sweet and emphatic. Then there's also Parvati, who at first is supposed to be her mortal enemy and all but ended up a great friend all of a sudden. I think this kind of relationships between the lead role and the supporting ones should have been detailed and clarified before the story came to an end. less
