review 1: Once again I love the whole misunderstanding and love/hate relationship elements of the book, very believable and very brilliant. Also the tension between the characters was great and there was a point where I seriously could not put the book down and was dying to know what would happen next/what had happened before. Although I think that the switching from past to present and the not knowing what led to the current situation bothered me a little bit at times. Also, just like Lauren Barnholdt's other books that I have read, the conflict was really brilliantly designed. Personally I find that books with huge misunderstandings and/or books where the girl hates the guy and they end up together usually have really fantastically epic conclusions, but just like other novels of L... moreauren's I have read, this did not. It was probably more realistic this way but much, much less enjoyable, and kind of a pity since it was so awesomely set up to have a brilliant climax. Also, I love that there was an entire paragraph dedicated to Taylor Swift's awesomeness =D I have read plenty of books where the main characters are obsessed with either old or unheard-of musicians, but this I have not seen before (even though people would imply that it's the other way around.)
review 2: Here are Peyton and Jace, meeting on vacation. It's awesome; it's easy; it's romantic. This is the real deal. Unless it isn't. Because when you're in love, you don't just stop calling one day. And you don't keep secrets. Or lie. And when your life starts falling apart, you're suppose to have the other person to lean on. Here are Peyton and Jace again, broken up but thrown together on a road trip. One of them is lying about the destination. One of them is pretending not to be leaving something behind. Neither of them is prepared for what's coming on the road ahead... (provided by publisher). I give this book 3/5 stars because this book reminded me a lot of its companion, Two*Way Street. I felt like it was the same characters with different names and a different background story. Jace and Peyton's personalities were a little to similar to Courtney and Jordan's. The ending was a little strange for me, and I feel like it was cut off. There needed to be more - I want to know more about what happens to them. less
