review 1: This is one of the books that I think sounds like a really cool premise and then just fails completely. I contemplated stopping part way through but I really wanted it to get better so I kept reading, but it didn't get better. Neither Jack or Jill were likeable. Their mom was terrible. There was a lot of bi-bashing and just stuff that I didn't really agree with. Really, none of the book made sense. If the book had been about Ramie and Jill's bf it might have been better since they were interesting, but Jill was too whiny and self absorbed and Jack was too creepy for me to really get into it.
review 2: I do think, like a lot of the LGBTQ YA fiction I've read that's more than a few years old, this feels a bit dated -- which is actually great, because it's reflect
... moreive of how much more visible and understood issues affecting LGBTQ youth are. Parts of the book felt a bit contrived to me, but the ending was really compelling, and I plan to look for subsequent books by the author. If you think you might enjoy reading this, I think it's definitely worth the time, and not just because it's a quick read. less

Thoroughly enjoyed reading in nearly one sitting, but I want the sequel before I try a review.

This book needs a sequel. Fortunately, it has one. Definitely YA, but still glad I read it.

Unique premise, but really juvenile storyline. I did not finish the whole book.
