review 1: I have yo say, this book was much better than the first one. Still confusing, but better.Leah has a way with words and you can hardly put the book down! Although I would love to see some romance in this book, it was okay without it. This novel reminded me of the Haunted Mansion or a Johnny Depp movie with the descriptions and outfits. Now for some odd reason my favorite character was Varis, guess I loved his vulnerability that even he couldn't see. I love that this book gave us a hint about what happened in the first book, Isabel and Rokan had a happy ending :)Now with Clarisse, even in death she still confuses and gets under my skin. Ugh!Anyways, if you read Mistwood and found it slow or boring, read Nightspell it is much better!
review 2: I really loved Mist... morewood and this companion book certainly does not disappoint in terms of writing and intrigue. I was not that shocked by the ending despite what other reviewers have said. I had benn hoping to see a bit more of Kestin though and was a bit disappointed that nothing much happened between him and Darri. He seemed like such an interesting character. I wish the author would've spent more time on him. less
