review 1: More like a 3.5 stars. The characters drew me in and I really started to care about them, well, most of them. Some very strong secondary characters as well that helped hold the story together as it weaved back and forth between the focus on each of the main characters.I also found myself questioning what I would do if I were put in Eloise's situation, so thought provoking and an overall enjoyable read.
review 2: You know how Seinfield was a show about not a lot going on, but we watched because it reflected real life? Well 'The History of Us' is a book without a whole lot going on, but I enjoyed it because it reflected real life. The four main characters, Eloise and her two nieces and nephew are all searching for something meaningful in their respective lives. H... moreas life passed them by? Will they choose to move forward? Read and find out for yourself. I enjoyed the writing style of Ms. Stewart and would read other books by her again in a heartbeat. less
