review 1: I actually read these separately. James Penney I found in the Thriller anthology. Guy Walks I read in the NY Times article, June 6, 2009. I preferred the James Penney story because it was longer, it had more characterization, and it challenged me to think about the nuances of Jack Reacher's character. I gave it 4 stars and the other one 3 stars, but since the 4 star was longer, I guess it averages to 4 stars!
