review 1: This is the first in this series I've read. Though I have seen the Tom Cruise film, which had its good points but on the whole was nothing to write home about. The protagonist is pretty ridiculous, a hulking male Mary-Sue who's hyper-independent, unbeatable in a fight, and always the smartest guy in the room. He apparently just wanders from town to town helping the locals out, like The Littlest Hobo if The Littlest Hobo could kill a dude with one punch. Nonetheless, he is not just a walking plot device; a fair amount of his backstory is revealed and if other books are similar it probably adds up to a very well-drawn, though larger-than-life, character. This time the problem is that a drug lord's biker thugs, cooking meth (or ARE they?) in some kind of underground fortress, a... morere after a little old lady whose testimony to be given in court could shut down their whole operation. The mystery of the goons in the compound was pretty compelling. Though there's a lot of treading water with regards to revealing its inner workings, the solution was satisfying and surprising, yet in retrospect completely obvious. This was an annoying yet amusing book and I probably would read more of the series.
review 2: 61 Hours is one of many successful books written by Lee Child. it is one of the many Jack Reacher novels. In this book Jack Reacher, an ex-military cop, arrives at a town in South Dakota in the winter. His intention was never to stop in the town, but the bus he was on skidded of the road in the freezing temperature, he has no choice. he is taken in by the assistant chief of the police department, Petreson, how asks him for help in on specific case. But all is not it first seen, and Reacher discovers many thing as the plot thickens. all are dangerous…Can Reacher save the day once more? Or did he finally met his match?I chose this book since I have read other books in this series, and I loved Jack Reacher’s adventures. Lee Child has managed to invent the one of the best characters I have come across. As Jack Reacher will always do the right thing in a cool, but ruthless way. So when I found there was another one, I rushed to read it. In my opinion, this book brings up questions about loyalty, a person’s responsibilities and doing the right thing. As always these qualities are well portrayed in the plot. I could not find any fault in the book, but found every minute of reading it enjoyable. I recommend this book to teenagers and adults who like detective books, and are looking for a good read. less

Love Lee Child's writing. Plenty of action, while not skimping on the detail.
