review 1: I really enjoyed this book! Grace is an acupuncturist who is determined to lead a healthy life, and to get the people she cares about to do the same. She's had some back luck with men, and has decided anyone else she gets involved with has to be sane and healthy. When her air conditioner catches fire during a group acupuncture clinic, firefighter/paramedic Tox scolds her for trying to put out the fire herself. Tox, short for Toxic since he works with hazmat situations, hasn't had the best luck with women and has declared he's not relationship material. He also eats lots of junk food and ice cream. Grace and Tox are attracted to each other despite both knowing they aren't right for each other. This book had many humorous parts as well as some almost-tear-jerker momen... morets. It's the first in the Firefighters of Darlington Bay series and is about people learning that love finds you even when the packaging isn't what you thought it would be.
review 2: A very entertaining and laid back read. Left me with a happy tingly farewell ending and a smile on my face. I really enjoyed the back and forth banter and teasing between the two main characters. They did fall in love a lot faster than what is usually believeable but the author did a great job letting things progress naturally, and avoiding a "forced" or rushed feel. Had quite a few lol-ing moments and reminded me a lot of Kristan Higgins style of writing. overall, I would reccommend this series an this author. less
