review 1: Description: Dru Anderson and her dad have moved once again, this time to the Dakotas. Dru's dad has found a job up there and he's not taking any chances. I wouldn't either if my dad hunted all the monsters that went bump in the night. Most people would say Dru was crazy for believing in things like wampyrs and loup-garous, but Dru knows better. She knows all about the Real World because she's been helping her dad eliminate these monsters for years, which makes it strange when her dad decides he's taking on this mission without her...Okay, this is the type of book that I love. Crazy monsters and the main character actually uses some skills to fight back instead of waiting for someone to come rescue her! I like books where the main character actually gets down and dirt... morey. For me, a book is just better when someone's able to kick some ass. I love Dru's independent attitude and how she keeps going when things get tough. Sure she stills gets depressed and wishes somebody else could take care of things for her, but that actually adds to her character instead of detracting from it. Probably because after saying that she'll take a step back and figure out how to do whatever she needs to in order to survive. Graves is pretty good about toughing it out to. After meeting Dru, and having the world as he knows it turned on its head, he sticks by her through all the crazy stuff that happens through out the rest of the story. He refuses to get shut out of what's happening and he's completely loyal to Dru which is just awesome. The plot of the book is okay. Lili manages to keep some things hidden and add some twists and turns, even if the first part of the book is fairly predictable. Overall a really great story.
review 2: This book reminded me a lot of the tv show "Supernatural." I kept expecting Dean and Sam to show up, or for the main character to call up Bobby. For the most part I liked the book. It was fast paced and interesting. She did whine about her father a little too much but I want to read the next installment. I was perplexed that it called her a knife thrower on the cover but she never once threw a knife. less

This book had potential but it was repetitive and slow. I honestly got bored with it.
