review 1: so I thought that this would have more Christophe and graves going on, but it really didn't. And that's a relief. and the name of this book, betrayals, there weren't many of those either. I like these book series because from the point of view of Dru, she is a teenage girl with some problems. She has been on her own for some of her life, fought some awful stuff, and now this happens. Now she is one of them. cant wait to read the next one
review 2: I know a lot of people don't like this series. Simply because of the main character. I get that there may be some sort of expectation in the first one. I honestly like the way this character progresses. You can't have a totally capable girl when she's still learning. Over the series though she gets really good, and gr... moreows into her role. A lot of people find her annoying and not very girl like. To be honest her Dad was a marine, and her Gran died right before puberty. You might not be familiar with this type of man-father, but I am. They don't acknowledge that you're female. You figure things out, but otherwise he treats you like a guy. You're expected to learn and do like any other boy. I think this is part of Dru's mindset that a lot of people didn't get or like. Anyways, I enjoy her growth as a character. We can't all start perfect, and St. Crow does a good job. I think this is what a REAL teen would be like. Being scared shitless until you get some sort of handle on things. Her dad trained her, but she was never really in the action, now she is. Anyways, this is my second time reading through this series, and if you like Paranormal, and a story that develops over a series rather than one book, you'd like these books. less
