review 1: basically this book reminded me WAY TOO MUCH of Supernatural. a young girl hunts supernatural creatures together with her father after her mother died. I liked this book a lot( I especially like Graves!!), but unfortunately Dru herself(maincharacter) annoyed me a lot. She's quite self-centered, calls people her age 'kid' as if she's the know-it-all and is a bit try-way-too-hard. The writing style is problematic, too. I just couldn't ge used it. but the story is still great and I hope Dru will make some character developments in the next books.
review 2: I absolutely enjoyed every part of this book, starting with the cover.Dru Anderson and her father are hunting the creatures of the night, always changing cities, hiding.Something bad happened to her mom when she
... morewas little but now also her father is transformed into a zombie and attacks Dru.The 16 year old teenager is on her own, well, not exactly, she gets help from the tall, goth boy, with big nose, with a creepy name, Graves.Dru and Graves discover they have special powers, along the way and also they are being hunted.I love how the author describes the harsh winter and also it,s amazing how well defined the characters are, the action in this book keeps you connected chapter by chapter. In this first book of the Strange Angels series, there is no romance yet, even though, the sexy djamphir (vampire)Cristophe Reynard joins the action, to help Dru, and we get a small hint that maybe Graves wants to be more than Dru”s friend also. Will Dru and her friends escape the evil vampire Sergej? Will she find out the truth about her, about her mom, about who turned her father into a zombie?Find out by reading this book!Someone wants Dru dead, but she will not give up without a fight and she knows when danger is close, because her grandma”s owl is always warning her.Want to know what happens? It was AMAZING I absolutly loved it. first off i will start with Graves, Graves makes the book funny. Graves is constantly cracking a joke. I also like Christophe he that half vamp half human that acts all bad and sarcastic all the god dang time. last but not least Dru she that odd kid that pretends to be a normal girl when she is so much more. My top three parts not in any order.1. HOW GRAVES SEES DRU AND GOES OVER BUYS HER LUNCH AND THE REVEALS HIS SECRETS TO HER WITH BEARLY KNOWING HER. IT'S LIKE HE GIVES HER ALL HIS TRUST ON SPOT. THEN DU AND HIM BECOME THIS LITTLE TEAM .2.i like when graves a christophe have there couple of show downs. MY FAVORITE BEING WHEN DRU JUST GOT THE BREATH SUCKED OUT OF HER BY THAT SERPANT THING, AND CHRISTOPHEASKES FOR THE TOWEL AND GRAVES IS LIKE YOU NEED TO WATCHER YOURSELF I WAS HERE FIRST BACK UP.3. IN THE END WHERE DRU,CHRISTOPE, AND GRAVES END UP GOING TO THAT SCHOOL, AND IT IS LIKE DRU IS HIDING FROM THE WORLD BEHIND GRAVES. THEN CHRISTOPE COMES AND GIVES HER THIS TALK LIKE HE'S THE PARENT. WHICH I LOVE. I feel like if you like Vampire Academy you'll like this and if you like Strane Angels you'll like Vampire Academy.

Um....This book sounded like something that would be right up my alley. Unfortunately, I couldn't really get through more than the first few chapters. I blame this primarily on the main character, who I found extremely unlikeable. She's supposed to be "badass" but she's just condescending and rude. Dru also came off as racist when she referred to a biracial classmate as a "halfbreed." I don't particularly want to read about this chick anymore. The zombies can have her.
