Bold As Love
review 1: This had the makings of such a great book so what the hell happened? Jake just starts liking Emily for no apparent reason and then Emily, supposedly a character with a dark history who cannot even communicate with her own father, lets down all of her barriers and likes him back for no apparent reason in what feels like a few days! There is zero character development, the characters read like cardboard cut outs with no personality, and the author just glosses over issues like rape and an alcoholic parent. I didn't pay a cent for this book but I want my money back! Oh, and for the love of god, stop calling her sweetness!!! It is the most god damn pathetic baby name and I want to strangle Jake every time he calls her this!!!
review 2: cc:Emily wished she was invis
... moreible. But after moving to a new town with her dad, a charming boy makes it impossible for her to disappear. Despite her feelings of unworthiness, Emily soon finds herself drawn to the safety of Jake's world. Good looking and the star of the hockey team, Jake has a lot going for him. What most people don't see is the difficult life he has at home. When quiet Emily steals his heart, Jake vows to help her discover she is worthy of love. Just when the two of them realize the sweetness of their relationship, they are put to the test. Only together can they overcome their haunted pasts to fight for a future together.by Lindsay Paige less
