review 1: This is a huge shift from my normal reading genre. I have a number of other books that are ready for me to read, but this weekend nothing sounded appealing, so I pulled this up on my wife's Kindle account. This book was a guilty pleasure for me. I was impressed with Lindsay's writing abilities. The characters were well developed and I appreciate that, true to life, both of the main characters have flaws that have real impacts on their daily lives, the choices they make, as well as relationships. Beyond that the other people we meet in the book, such as family members, also come with their own baggage, and honestly, who doesn't have a "less-than-perfect" family? The real draw to me is that meeting Ryan and Gabe I find many aspects of my own life in their characters. ... moreBeing able to personally relate to the characters gave them a believable, realistic quality.'You Before Me' was a quick read. I read it over a weekend. I hesitate to admit, since it isn't my preferred genre, but I had a hard time putting it down. I really enjoyed the journey that Ryan and Gabe started together. In the spirit of full disclosure, I recently met Lindsay Paige. I suppose that influenced my decision to read one of her books. I was hoping for something hockey related, which she also writes, but I picked incorrectly. Guess I'll have to take another chance, but with a little more homework this time to get the right books. :)Lindsay is a talented writer. I was impressed with her abilities given her age, which like with Ryan, doesn't mean she isn't capable "beyond her years". She is still young, which potentially means years and years of good books to come. Thanks for the guilty pleasure that 'You Before Me' is.
review 2: Ryan is a 19 year old party girl. She is a only child and never felt wanted by her parents. and The only thing that truly makes her happy is Sex with random people. Then one walk of shame day she left a guys place with out her pants because she couldn't find them. She gets pulled over for speeding. And Meets the Sexy and Charming Gabe.Gabe is a good boy always followed the rules. Even doesn't have sex on the first date. Then he meets Ryan and she turns his life upside down. But in such a good way. He pulls her over and then again runs into her when she is peeping on her friends boyfriend that is currently cheating on her friend. Now after all this Gabe asks Ryan out. He can't seem to resist her charm. And For the first time ever Ryan is interested in someone for more then one night. THis book was truly a favorite of mine now. It was sweet and romantic. Plus it was amazing how supportive Gabe was to Ryan when she was trying to make hard choices. Their relationship continues to grow. But Ryan is afraid she isn't good enough for Gabe. And Her bigger fear is she thinks Gabe will feel that way too. This book offered so much sexual tension and chemistry made you want to go take a cold shower. The biggest question is Will being with Gabe Change Ryan for the better or worse? I did love this book!! I think I do think I have a new favorite to add my long list of favorite books!! Way to go Lindsay Paige less
