review 1: Having never read Linwood Barclay before I didn't know what to expect. This book is fast-paced and riddled with poorly timed decisions that snowball into the final moments of truth as a happen-stance killer tries to avoid being caught. None of the characters are particularly compelling although at moments the tension between Keisha and her live-in deadbeat boyfriend Kirk is entertaining as they bungle their way through the cover up of her accidental crime.
review 2: This is a page turner with twists, as per usual Barclay style. There are references to the characters from his book No Time for Goodbye. I love all of Barclay's books and this book is a thriller that had me hooked all the way through. What was different and hard to wrap my head around was that non... moree of these characters (including the protagonist) are good. They are all shady characters, so who to root for? A fun read, in the end, but quite different. less
