Pretty Amy
review 1: Pretty Amy is about Amy Fleishman. Amy lives in the shadows of her two best friends Lila and Cassie. Ever since Amy met them she's agreed to do what they say and it's turned her into a bad girl. Most of the people around her have decided to give up on her like her best friend Joe and both her parents. On prom night, Amy and her friends get stood up and have no way to get into the prom. With all their anger inside them, they decide to drive around town smoking a big bag of marijuana. Soon enough, they get caught by the police and they see what they are doing. They get taken to jail. Amy's parents are furious and they decide that the best way for her to show the judge that Amy really is a good girl, she has to spend her entire summer working at Gas-N-Go, going to appointment... mores with her counselor, and doing nice things for the community. Soon enough, Amy finds people who are willing to help her through her tough summer and she discovers that being friends with Lila and Cassie meant that she had to give herself up. I didn't really enjoy this book a lot because it mostly talked about Amy and how she had to go to all these appointments with different people and there was not that much action. What I did like about the book was that at the end there was a pretty good resolution where Amy sorted out all her problems with the authority and her friends. She also had her fairy tale moment where she finds the right guy. What I didn't like about the story was that there was nothing special about the story. I t was a story about a girl who gets in trouble and goes through a whole process of turning from good to bad and then at the end she decides to be good again. I would recommend this book to people who like to read love stories and people who like to read coming-of-age stories as well.
review 2: First things first: Pardon my French, Amy's mom is a real bitch. She doesn't even try to listen or believe her daughter, she immediately thinks it is true. Oh my daughter had drugs on her, oh then she must be a criminal and must have sold it. :\ Or with "heroin" part, her mom immediately bought books and wrecked Amy's stuff. *rolls eyes* And so there are more stuff. Also one of the reasons why this book gets -1 star.Amy... Amy.. Where to start? I liked Amy, but I also had times I wanted to just slap her. She was so darn negative, so gloomy. Everyone wanted to help her and (though I understand why) she didn't want help or anything. Also that she kept believing Lila would still be her friend. :\But the book was good. I liked the fact that you went through the whole process, not half. Just the whole, from arrest to prosecution, it was very interesting. I would recommend this book to people who are interested in this kind of thing, but also for people who don't mind a gloomy/snarky main character. less

This was a little hard to get through--slow development, but I did enjoy the ending.
