review 1: Okay, so I did not like this book. First, I want to say that all authors are incredibly brave. It takes a lot of courage to put their work out there for people to love or hate. It takes time and dedication and so much hard work to get a story written at all, and then to have people review their work is just scary. The thing about books, though, is that some people will love it and some people will hate it. You just can't please everyone. I've read some of the reviews for this book, and many people seemed to really enjoy it. For me, it was all over the place. Candy or Candice couldn't figure out which person she liked or what it is she wanted. She was secretly writing erotic romance to help pay her way through school, but then ended up coming clean and having to give the mo... moreney back anyway...so what was the point and how is she still paying for school? Doesn't make sense. The whole thing was just jumbled up. Not my cup of tea, but kudos to those who liked it.
review 2: The book equivalent to enjoying a hot fudge sundae. :-) I rather enjoyed the plot and the points made about being a new adult or romance author versus a "legit literary force." Well played, Lisa, well played! I have read quite a bit of romance and some new adult, some really good and some absolute dreck, and Lisa's writing ability is nothing to shirk; consider yourself a MUCH better writer than EL James (dreck). You have the gift or you don't. My bet is on Lisa. less
